I love how during this time of the year we celebrate a season of Thanksgiving and then overnight the scene changes and it’s a season of gifting – giving and receiving.
Maybe if you were from Mars, you would think or ask…don’t you have it a bit backwards? Don’t you typically say thank you after receiving?
But before?
I don’t think I’m much different from anyone else since I love to receive gifts.
How about you?
What might be different though is that I enjoy giving the gifts - and the steps that gets me there. Even more than receiving????
No matter how much joy I get from finding the best gifts for those on my list – the best gift I can find – no matter how great the gift, it doesn’t match or come close to the greatest gift of all time from the greatest giver of all time.
It’s not a one-time gift or something or anything that compares to anything else – no greater gift, no greater love than Jesus, our savior, our hope, our joy, our peace, our life, everlasting life.
Knowing Jesus….
His name is Jesus – Emmanuel – God with us.
Wonderful, Counselor, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Thank you, father, for the gift of your son, Jesus our hope, joy and peace, who came to live amongst us and then give and sacrifice his life so that we can have life – eternal like.
Thank you, Father. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
